Nalgae is here
Severe tropical storm Nalgae will be skirting close to enough to Hong Kong that the Observatory will be raising a T8 signal between 12-2pm this afternoon.

The EDB announced all schools are cancelled.
While the storm will be weakning, the HKO is not sure about how long it will take.
Bankers summit continues regardless
Despite the T8 shutting down the city, including banks and the stock market, the bankerâs summit will continue, confirmed the HK Monetary Authority. RTHK will be streaming the proceedings online.
Macau continues testing regardless
Meanwhile over in Macau, 11 imported COVID cases that then sparked a small family cluster has forced the whole city to conduct PCR tests yesterday followed by multiple RAT tests throughout the week.
Lines yesterday were long, and some testing sites, such as that in Sam Ka, were closed for bad weather. Macanese authorities hope that all testing can be completed before Typhoon Nalgae makes things even worse.

FS Paul Chan has been cleared to attend todayâs bankerâs summit after rushing back from Saudi Arabia where he caught COVID late last week. The government press release described him as ârecoveringâ and ânot contagiousâ although it didnât explicitly say he was negative. However, he is banned from taking part in meals so maybe heâll bring his own sandwiches idk.
The Marathon Returns
The Hong Kong Marathon will be returning on 12 Feb 2023 with special prizes to lure more racers, despite a cap of 25,000 participants, organizers said.
Professional athletes will be able to sign up from this Friday (4 Nov) with the public ballot opening from 15 - 21 Nov. Although the government has currently capped participation at 25,000 due to COVID concerns, organizers hope this number can be increased at a later date as the pandemic subsides.

The marathon was supposed to take place this month but were cancelled when the fifth wave. Other cancelled sports events, such as the Cross-Harbour Race were also restarted.
