🌊 Moon Rivers
American Consulate General, new season incoming
Happy Tuesday! I realized that I paywalled yesterday’s Tide thinking it was a Sunday when it was in fact Monday.
Sorry, any change to my schedule makes my whole mind immediately explore because I have memory the size of a goldfish.
I’ve un-paywalled it for everyone:
P.S: with today’s title, it is a legal requirement for you to listen to Audrey Hepburn as you read.

The events center around the revitalisation of the Jordan Valley channel and Kai Tak nullahs in East Kowloon from essentially industrial gutters into proper bio-diverse and greened up public spaces.
From 5-18 Sept, the “Rivers in the City” lantern display has giant moons and bird shaped lanterns across both rivers. Additionally, a workshops on river greening and planting aqueous plants will held from 2-8 Sept at the Jordan Valley site (first come first serve, sign up here - maps to both rivers are also on that link).
Aside from Jordan Valley and Kai Tak, Tsui Ping nullah in Kwun Tong is also being revitalised into a river and is set to be completed in 2024
COVID in Hong Kong
COVID-19 in Hong Kong

No plans to have school closures over COVID (at the moment)
Instead, the EDB is currently taking a targeted approach of banning COVID-positive students from school, and moving affected classes online instead of having full closures.
This is a big change from policy during previous waves when whole schools would be closed over a couple of cases and close contacts.
In March 2021, the government had to make massive u-turns after large groups of young teens and eventually kindergarteners were being sent into Penny’s Bay. Need a flashback to stricter times? Check out our article on Kellet and Harbour Schools’ fight against kids in isolation.
What time is it? Time to give those watches back
The police have arrested 6 men in relation to the $13 million Causeway Bay watch heist last week. Four of the arrested were thieves, while the other two provided getaway vehicles.
36 watches have been retrieved, as well as $230,000 in cash. The police are still searching for the remaining 34 and do not rule out more arrests being made.
