Good morning,
Jasmines going on a holiday in a month or two and need some suggestions for where to drink around Europe. By now a good number of you know I’m drunk most days of the week, but I can only recommend her places if she comes back to drink in Hong Kong (I’m very ‘patriotic’ in that way).
So all suggestions are good! Email them, twitter them, insta them!
In return, here’s my latest recommendation
~ Cyril

COVID in HK

Restaurants won’t benefit from vouchers
Simon Wong, President of the Hong Kong Federation of Restaurants & Related, said that it's unlikely that the restaurant trade will earn from the HK$10K electronic vouchers without a further relaxing of COVID-19, measures. While he understood the need for the restrictions….. it's not really helping his constituency.
We're kinda of done with COVID, but don't worry if we're not
Wilson Lam Wai-shun from the Hong Kong Medical Association said earlier yesterday that the current Omicron wave should end within the month, despite CE Carrie Lam asking everyone to stay prepared for the worse.
Simultaneously, CE Carrie Lam said that the government would be able to carry out mass testing - or at least for the 'voluntary' testing this weekend.
“You need not worry about our capacity. We have the capacity and that’s why we’re proceeding with this very meaningful and useful exercise”,
In short, if you report positive from Friday to Sunday but are eligible for home quarantine - stay home. Otherwise…I've heard Penny’s Bay has good views
John Lee for CE
According to the Basic Law, you can't run for CE while having another job. To this end, Chief Executive of Administration John Lee, has resigned from his current position. Lee previous served as Security Chief and various positions within the police force.
In a very journalistic fashion, Lee made his official announcement for the position in both Chinese and English in under 5 minutes without taking any questions.
