Whoâs gayer - Hong Kong or Mexico?
The Gay Games, originally to be held this year solely in HK has announced a possibility of co-hosting the delayed games in 2023 between Hong Kong and Guadalajara.

An announcement in late 2021 had already delayed the games to next year, but in light of policies âracing against the âaggravating epidemicâ, organizers decided it would be beneficial to have the game co-hosted in a location with fewer international travel restrictions.
By having Gay Games 11 accessible to participants across two locations we can ensure we meet our aim of being as inclusive as possible while international travel continues to recover. We will still be holding the first Gay Games in Asia, but potentially for the first time in Latin America as well, welcoming the widest possible audience to both cities. There is a huge amount of planning to do and we will be providing more detailed updates as soon as we are in a position to share more information.
Lisa Lam, the co-chair of Gay Games HK

Simultaneously, the HK Gay Games founder, Dennis Philipse announced he will be stepping down from his post as CEO to refocus back on his professional career after volunteering on the delayed games for several years.
COVID in HK

Coronavirus in Hong Kong
New cases:Â 2071 (19 imported)
Active cases: 9529
Deaths: 223 (+2 RIP)
Total cases: 25,051
Is it an emergency? No? Donât call an ambulance
Hospitals are now operating at 90% capacity (the final 10% is an emergency buffer - they cannot run at 100% capacity). Contrary to previous advice, Dr. Chuang says if positive but youâre not dying or in danger (i.e. asymptomatic or mild) donât call an ambulance. Instead, stay at home, make yourself a cup of tea, and call the HA hotline letting them know youâre still waiting.
No official policy changes regarding home quarantine for positive cases, but regardless, the way things are now, it could take days to get hospitalised or quarantined.
Spread COVID guy gets COVID
A man who was arrested last week for putting up online calls to spread COVID and overwhelm the government and force their hand, has missed a court appearance after prosecution said he might have COVID.
That means heâs still out thereâŚ.possibly coughingâŚwhat an evil genius

MTR accepts WeChat
From Sunday, the MTRâs QR scanning gates will be accepting Union Pay and WeChat Pay. This is in addition to the MTR Appâs inbuilt payment system and Ali Pay.
They still wonât accept contactless UGH
KMB has also finished installing QR scanners on all of its 4000 bus fleet. Whether theyâll run all the time is another questionâŚâŚ.
