LegCo has passed a bill requiring public officers to pledge allegiance to the government and promise to uphold Basic Law. This includes district councillors; four democratic district councillors will be removed from their positions when the amendments are gazetted next Friday.
An investigation will be held to look into the head of the national security department, Frederic Choi, who was found at an unlicensed massage parlour. No further details have been given on the case and whether or not Choi was soliciting sexual services at the site.
Over half of transgender people surveyed in 2019 and 2020 report having faced discrimination in various areas of their lives. The research, conducted by Chinese University, also shows that more than three-quarters of them have considered committing suicide (paywalled).
