Good morning.
I’ve been informed, to my surprise, that some people get the impression that Harbour Times is a successful publication raking in the media dough. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
The whole publication of HT is run by two millennial writers; one of them (that’s me, the one who writes High Tide nearly every day), is a broke journalist who continues to work three other jobs as a bartender and barista so she can afford to eat.
Harbour Times is completely supported by the generous donations of our Patreon members and those who subscribe to our premium newsletter on Substack. We currently take zero dollars in sponsorships but realistically speaking it is something we will be looking into in the future if we want to survive. We do not want to be taking just any sponsorships though – we know our readers are a smart bunch and would only advertise brands that reflect our values and support the local community.
For now, we remain a crowdfunded platform. If reading this newsletter or any of our other articles has benefitted you at all, please consider leaving us a tip on Patreon or Paypal. Those on Substack paying for an annual or monthly subscription get access to our private newsletter as well as other perks.

PS Enjoy the song with a title that also happens to perfectly describe me.
