🌊 Mainland Elections Livestreamed
Siobhan is a world record holder now - please pronounce her name properly :(
Good morning,
Believe it or not, we the ever tiny Harbour Times, was invited to the BEC Christmas Cocktail reception (applause). Apparently we do great sustainability coverage (more applause) which is good because sustainbility is actually a really important aspect of modern life that everyone really should be working towards bettering.
That’s not just me pretending to suck up to partners - I was bullied for being a ‘tree hugger’ all through primary and secondary school. Climate change is real. Let’s get to fixing it… or do our best anyway.
Anyway. I was really fixated on the toilet at the BEC which only uses 1.5L per flush, sucks the water out like an airplane toilet and apparently ‘saves the world’.
The BEC people are probably reading this and expecting better coverage of yesterday’s reception, but while it was great - this was really honestly too cool to leave out.

Yau Ma Tei Lockdown over Omicron
A Cathay Pacific crew member living in Yau Ma Tei has been diagnosed with the N501Y strain and T478K mutation - both of which are possible signs of Omicron. This sparked the government to order a lockdown of their building in Yau Ma Tei.
The crew member in question has largely stayed indoors except to get groceries and to get tested at a mobile station.
Results are pending. Cargo crew are currently exempt from mandatory quarantine.
Siobhan breaks world record!
Hong Kong swimmer Siobhan Haughey broke the world record for women’s 200m freestyle yesterday.
At 1min 50.31 seconds, she scraped by the previous record of 1min 50.43 set by Sweden’s Sarah Sjöström.
It’s time to learn how to say her name. She’s a world record holder now.
There’s no ‘b’ in Siobhan.

Looking for something funny and fishy this Christmas? Bilingual comedian Vivek Mahbubani’s latest show at Ocean Park is sure to drown you with laughter. Also he may run out of hair half way.
“It's the same venue that big names like Jim Jeffries have performed in and this time I'm using the ticking timebomb that is my receding hairline as a reason to do my solo show so people can at least one day say "I saw him when he was still hairy!"
