Good morning

It’s been a while. Envisioned a dramatic return to High Tide on this cloudy Monday morning, but today seems like an incredibly slow news day. How anticlimactic. Thanks to Sze Yu for taking over for me in the meantime, hope you all enjoyed his stay too!

Police call for support on “anti-terrorism drills”

The force plans to work with the MTR Corporation, local hotels and shops to conduct counterterrorism drills and call on the public to help them safeguard national security. Raymond Siu Chak-yee, Commissioner of Police, warned the public against leaving flower tributes, “committing inciting acts and giving inciteful speeches” to mourn a man who stabbed an officer before killing himself on 1 July. The attack was described as a “lone wolf act of domestic terrorism” (paywalled).
