Good morning
Don’t worry about the news yesterday, nothing interesting happened. In fact a whole lot of nothing happened.
Although you might see some something if you help us out and subscribe to the full version! Links sent in addition to your copy of Free Tide as usual.

Park is empty
Some people seemed surprised to see Victoria Park empty but I don’t get why. The police also told people not to show up to the empty park. Cordons were put around it to make sure the park stayed empty.

Police ended up deploying 7,000 officers to the scene to make sure no one enters the empty park. Councillor Ronny Tong says police were within legal rights in the Public Order Ordinance to close the park.
COVID-19
Coronavirus in Hong Kong
New cases:Â 1 (imported)
Total cases:Â 11,849 cases so far (67 active cases, 210Â total deaths, 11,572 total recovered)
Nothing to do in Tin Shui Wai
A preliminary case of COVID N501 strain was found in a 17 year old school girl in Tin Shui Wai. Shing Yu House at Tin Shing Court has been locked down for testing which means you can’t do anything if you live there.
If you’ve been to the Exhibition Centre or Tak Wing Industrial Building, however, you’ve got to go get tested.
Do not attend
Usually I’d advertise an event, but due to COVID restrictions, you can’t gather in a group larger than 4 if you have a similar goal. That means everything could be considered an unauthorized assembly and in breach of social distancing regulations.
Arrests for attending unattendable things
Vice-chairwoman of the Hong Kong Alliance, Chow Hang-Tung was arrested for trying to attend an unauthorized assembly at the aforementioned empty park
Wong Yat-Chin and Chan Chi-sam of Student Politicism were arrested for playing an unlicensed film in Mong Kok
Police say 6 were arrested; it is not clear to me if the three above are counted in this number.
Other highlights of things that didn’t happen
27 and 14 year old arrested over gas mask and weapons import
24 injured in Sha Tin school bus crash
SIM Card registration law gazetted
