🌊 Free Tide: 3700 Police Sign Ups
Hello! I'm not Jasmine!
Good Monday,
I don’t think I’ve done the free version of High Tide yet. Hello. I’m the other manager of Harbour Times. You might also know me as the guy who wrote an overly emotional open letter to the Flying Pan. If you like banter and unserious news, I cover paid High Tides on Sundays - here’s a small taste.

Yesterday, the HKPF hosted their ‘Experience and Assessment Day’, a recruitment drive where prospective police can do their physical and written tests on the same day. Various departments showcased their equipment including the Counter Terrorism Unit, Small Boats Unit and Police Dog Unit.
Prospective applicants were also able to try out some fancy new training equipment such as VR headsets.
The police hasn’t had a one-stop recruitment drive since 2019; I guess lots of police are currently retiring from old age - that’s got to be the reason (I know some so this is personal experience and not an opinion). 2000 signed up on the spot today, 1700 applied in advance says Superintendent Baron Chan.
Police Museum Renovation
In other police related news, the Police Museum in Wanchai Gap will be out of commission from today until March 2022. (Daily readers would know this from Harry Harrison’s takeover last week).
Some people say they worry the renovation is politically charged and that the exhibitions will greatly change. I went a few days ago and can confirm this is not the case - the Sheung Shui Tiger head is still there and I’m sure creepy robocop will stay too.
COVID19

Yay!
Nothing to visit on June 4th 1989
The June 4th Museum in Mong Kok has reopened despite worries that talking about what didn’t happen will be in breach of the National Security Law.
If you want to see nothing, staff requests everyone book online to for COVID related health reasons. Lots of people booked in advance to see the invisible museum, so they’re pretty full.
Wanna see something rather than nothing? I may just upload some pictures of the police museums to our subscribers only Patreon >:(
Angry faces aside, a donation would be a great help. If you don’t feel like you want to pay for a full High Tide subscription, consider a small monthly donation on Patreon - or just donate once, take all the freebies and then leave! That’s what I do (shh)
