Carrie Lam to not run for a second term
Yesterday came the big announcement: Carrie Lam will not be rerunning for her position as Chief Executive in the upcoming election. She said family and personal reasons influenced this decision:
"This is not a question of evaluating my performance or the performance of the Hong Kong SAR Government in this term. This is a question of my personal wish and aspiration, and my personal wish and aspiration is entirely based on my family's consideration.”
— Chief Executive Carrie “family first” Lam
Are you surprised by her decision? Why or why not? Regardless of what you think of her term, all I’m going to say is I’d have made the same decision.
Korean Air flights suspended after finding positive cases
New cases: 3,183
Testing is required for people who were present at 25 specified places (see the Annex for details).
35 cases found after overnight lockdowns in Kwun Tong and Tin Shui Wai.
Korean Air flights arriving from Seoul have been suspended until Sunday, 10 April, as three passengers tested positive for COVID-19 after landing in HK on Saturday.
